More than War & Wine

Collaboration Project || Designer Manager

More than War and Wine was an exhibition put on by the art history majors and the 2017 class of graphic designers. All the artifacts in the exhibition were on loan from the Toledo Museum of Art. The artifacts included ceramic everyday objects from the ancient Egyptian and Roman time period. My role as a Design Manager for the exhibition were to design ceramic labels for the work, design the way the categories were separated, assign roles to classmates, meet with other design leaders, oversee critiques, guide concept production, and oversee installation.

The ceramic labels were handmade by rolling out slabs of clay. A decal with the information about each artifact was infused on after the glaze firing.

The categories were separated with a vinyl sticker that used the light to shine the image below the first artifact in each category.

To create an Roman garden environment to the installation I hand-built two large amphoras that were on display. This also brought the feel of the artifacts outside of the display cases.
